The Zulista: the virtual police of unworthy flats
In this day and age, the Constitution makes for many jokes (or rather not), but we will stick to one of the parts that makes the immo sector blush the most: article 47.
It reads:
"All Spaniards have the right to enjoy decent and adequate housing. The public authorities shall promote the necessary conditions and establish the relevant rules to make this right effective, regulating land use in accordance with the general interest in order to prevent speculation. The community shall participate in the capital gains generated by the urban development actions of the public authorities.
Does anyone believe it? The truth is that the current scenario casts serious doubts on the fine intentions of this sacrosanct charter, and the reality of the real estate sector in post-bubble Spain talks daily about gentrification and stratospheric rentsamong other things.
You only need to take a short stroll through any of the country's major real estate portals on the Internet to see, first hand, that some people have not learned their lesson after what they have experienced (¿?optimism or real estate optimism?); that most people still sell their house as if it were a dirty armchair on Wallapop (that's why we give you these tips about home staging to sell or rent your home); and who, more than they should, interpret the argument of "decent and adequate housing" to unsuspected and indecent limits.
That's where it comes in The Zulistathe digital vigilante for decent housing, the true punisher of shameless sellers. Since April 2018, this Twitter user has been collecting and sharing the most shameful "dumps-that-are-offered-as-homes" from all over Spain, with hints of parody but with an obvious undertone of criticism and denunciation.
We leave you with a selection of the most absurd hideouts, but always bear in mind the mantra that he himself applies: "Laughing is better than crying, that's the spirit!".

Be sure to follow @elzulista on Twitter to get your daily dose of zulos. Those of us who have the immo fetish up, we enjoy it, but if your sense of justice gets the better of you and you become indignant... best to desist. You know, health comes first.
If Article 47 of the Constitution is longer than your living room... It's time to call El Zulista!
