Volta_ Housing: Democratising designer housing
We sat down with their team for a while to better understand what Volta_ is and what makes them special.
The romance of Monapart Alicante with Turn_ It’s been going on for years now. We first met them because we were drawn to their taste for #viviendasbonitas and their desire to do things properly, with the utmost care and professionalism, just like a craftsman. And all of that, in itself, is very Monapart.
There are already many projects designed based on our homes, turning them into white swans (like this o this) to more than one ugly duckling and making visible the hidden benefits of those spaces that they know so well how to exploit.
How did Volta_ come about?
Volta_ was founded in 2016 through the initiative of three restless minds eager to promote the quality, functional and emotional home. From our point of view, the property market was not meeting people's needs for a home that adapts to each client's lifestyle and fits the way each person experiences their home. Volta_ was created to meet that need and highlight the importance of housing in our lives. In our society, it was not being given the importance it deserved, the real estate sector was not offering housing of sufficient quality and the public was simply settling. At Volta_, we aspire to create homes with higher living standards. Emotional homes that gift you unexpected pleasurable moments. Functional homes that fit your lifestyle perfectly.
What do you do at Volta_?
At Volta_, we offer refurbishment, architecture and interior design services geared almost exclusively towards the residential market. Our strength lies in specialisation and comprehensive project management of the renovation, from design to the management and contracting of the building work, remaining the client's sole point of contact until their home is finished and fully equipped. Our aim is for the client to enjoy the experience of designing and renovating their home. We have a great team of people and professionals in the studio, made up of architects, technicians and interior designers, which is what enables us to have a global vision of what we do.
How do you view housing?
At Volta we understand the home as a fundamental space in our lives that helps us to be happier, live better, relate better to our families... The home is an extremely functional space and therefore our designs always start from there and from the way each of our clients lives. In addition, homes have to be beautiful, since beauty and harmony are, in themselves, something functional that undoubtedly affects our mood.

There are different types of people and ways of living, and all of them are valid, which is why at Volta_ we take our clients' needs and preferences very much into account so that when they start living there, it fits them like a glove and they feel at HOME.
We know, because we all go through it at some point, that the search for a home and its subsequent refurbishment to turn it into something unique is a task that requires dedication, commitment and care, three concepts that perfectly define our way of thinking, living and working. Ultimately, it is about ensuring our work helps to make the process of creating their homes easier for our clients.
Communication with our clients is vital: knowing what they like, their lifestyle habits, their customs, their hobbies, all of this helps us to create a unique space that adapts perfectly to their lives. We are very clear that we must not limit ourselves solely to meeting their expectations. We must exceed them! We will achieve this by fulfilling all our commitments and surprising them with the result. That is why, to this day, we feel very proud when our clients call or write to tell us: “What we like most about the house is that everything is designed for us and our daily needs”, “The house is practical, comfortable and easy to maintain, we are very happy in our new home”. That day we leave the studio with a smile on our faces and the satisfaction of having done our job well.
How would you define your style?
In our projects, we look for balance, an overall vision where everything fits together and flows. A functional, simple, honest and truthful style. We like it when one action resolves several needs at the same time, both functional and aesthetic. When designing a home, we aim for every action to satisfy several needs at the same time. If we fail to achieve this, it is not good design.
On the other hand, we design homes that are housing solutions to specific needs based on each client's budget and preferences. We like to say that a home is a space that accommodates different moments in the daily life of a person, couple or family... Approaching our design work in this way allows us to be more efficient with every action, so that a specific space can be a bedroom at a given moment, but can also be part of the daytime living space at another, or an office at the weekend. In this way, we multiply the space in increasingly smaller homes.
Light is another element that we normally seek to optimise and maximise in our projects, as well as cross-ventilation or storage spaces that allow us to store everything necessary while keeping spaces free of clutter; noble materials that age well and acquire a patina; as well as a timeless aesthetic that is partly removed from current fashion trends.

How do you see the future of Volta_?
With optimism, without a doubt. We love our work and as long as we can dedicate ourselves to it we will be happy. We are ambitious in our goals and we see it as a mission and a way to partly give meaning to our lives. We want to reach a lot of people, we want to democratise design and quality housing, we want everyone to be able to have a Volta_ home.
