A., the owner, tells me that he commissioned the renovation to Ekis Global Architecturean architecture and interior design studio located halfway between Barcelona and Lleida, founded by Kiko Solsona 35 years ago under the premise of personal, sober lines and the luxury of austere lines. On the ground floor, where the entrance to the house is today, there used to be a large living room with a fireplace, a bedroom, a bathroom and a laundry room. And what was the large living room, the main space, is now a multi-purpose room. A new, modern laundry room, a guest bathroom and a double bedroom with bathroom are also planned. The staircase, from being a mere end to being the main element of the house, sews the three floors together.
On the first floor, the ceilings are demolished, the kitchen partition is removed, the staircase is made transparent, the façade openings are modified and the terrace is renovated. This floor becomes an open-plan space, with the staircase, once again, as a separating element.
On the second floor, where there were 3 bedrooms (2 singles sharing a bathroom and a double bedroom suite) today there are 2 single rooms in a double bedroom with fitted wardrobes and bathroom, and the master bedroom is completely refurbished.
