At the home of Aurora Vilaboa and Gonzalo Cutrina
Meeting Dori and Gonzalo has been a breath of fresh air, as they are people who captivate from the first minute. Creative to the nth degree, surprising... to the nth degree too, good vibes galore, and all this is evident in their home, where we spent almost a whole day.
Aurora Vilaboa (Dori for friends) and Gonzalo CutrinaThey form an explosive Galician-Catalan tandem. They live and work under the same roof, where she designs her own accessory brand (Dorigato), and he is illustrator.

But in the studio, where everything is cooked up, creativity flows and is contagious, so Gonzalo, helped by his two feline interns Tweed and Lacroix, imagines themes for costume jewellery collections Dori, and she chooses the materials and draws up the technical specifications of Gonzalo's sketches.

His latest project is a collection of scarves inspired by magic. We've seen them and you'll be amazed....
How we flip out about their house. "My house is vintage", says Dori, "It speaks of us, it reflects our personality", says Gonzalo, and it's obvious, few houses reflect their occupants so well.

Everything has a meaning and a place, everything has a story behind it, and they spare no detail in telling us the wheres, whys and whos.

Some things have always been with them, like Gonzalo's rubbish bin, a classic Vinçon piece. Others, on the other hand, appear and are discovered with second, third glances.

They explain that they love going to flea markets, and that every Wednesday they go hunting at Els Encants Vells. Much of what we see comes from there, but also from flea markets in Hong Kong, even Coney Island, like some pieces by Murakami or Lacroix.

They are curious, hunters, urbanites, travellers, inveterate collectors. And they proudly show us the collections that occupy different parts of the house, like the elephant collection Gonzalo treasures, "I started the collection in Galicia when I was visiting Cáritas markets to help drug addicts".

Or the collection of German ceramicsThe appliqués and plates from the 50s and 60s, from family members or flea markets, coexist with signature pieces, such as a cat by Lisa Larsson, a plate by Versace, or a hand from Sargadelos.

Curiously, this bizarre mixture of objects from here and there makes sense and is coherent. Dori collects apples, heads and pieces of dolls or hats.

But her greatest treasure is her wardrobe, full of real jewels in the form of dresses, accessories and shoes... Girls, what shoes! Her outfits are a sensation wherever she goes.

And even if they stay at home, he does not hesitate to dazzle his friends at "Casolan gatherings".

With them, an unpretentious meal with friends can end up transforming your living room into an improvised dance floor or a screening room... Like the recording of a report that ends up being much more... Pure joie de vivre!
