Peralta Vidavi, the craftsmanship of light
In the world of lighting and decoration, craftsmanship and customisation are the key elements that distinguish some companies from others.
In this interview, we have the pleasure of talking to Davinia, an expert in the creation of handcrafted lampshades and lampshades who has turned her passion for lighting into a successful business at the helm of Peralta Vidavi.
Tell us about yourself and your work. Where did your vocation start? Any first memories?
Since I was very young I have been closely linked to the world of lampshades and lampshades craftsmanship. With my aunt and my mother I have travelled around the world to many fairs of lampshades and lampshades. lighting and decoration, learning from the craftsmanship and experience they have passed on to me.
I decided to study a double degree in teaching and INEF at university because I have always been closely related to the world of sport and I love children, but in 2011, just after finishing my degree, a series of circumstances led me to decide to start my own business with the support of Vicente and David, both a fundamental part of this project, and of course with the unconditional support of my mother who brings me more than 40 years of experience in the world of lighting and the manufacture of handmade screens.
What do you find most satisfying about your work, and is there anything you are particularly proud of?
Craftsmanship makes it possible to create exclusive, different pieces that create a feeling of total personalisation for the customer. For this reason, being able to use the best fabrics, create shapes, manufacture structures in any size and measure, means that our clients can achieve spaces where they can put their own stamp and distinguish themselves from any other.
It is very gratifying to be able to see the results of the projects and the feedback from our clients because they have been able to create quality, exclusive and unique spaces with our totally personalised and handcrafted screens.

What is your creative process like? What are your sources of inspiration?
There is a maxim we have and that is that we have always wanted to give our customers a feeling of exclusivity, quality and distinction.In a world in which importers have made these values obsolete, that is why our main work is the customisation and manufacture of lampshades and decorative lamps for all kinds of businesses, from hotel chains to interior design and architecture studios, furniture and decoration shops that want to find an exclusive, high quality and different product with our firm.
We combine shapes, sizes and fabrics, incorporating the highest quality and trendy fabrics to create spaces with their own personality.
