At Philippe Boonen's home
Philippe Boonen is chaos. His wife Claudia, order. That is the key to balance, and what explains why everything in their home breathes love. We discover a magical home, where everything has a meaning and a place.
Philippe Boonen is chaos. His wife Claudia, order. That is the key to balance, and what explains why everything in their house breathes love. We discover a magical home, where everything has a meaning and a place, beautiful, simple objects, found in Els Encants or in the street, whispering “take me home” only to those who know how to listen.
Philippe is, first and foremost, a great artist (and we are not referring to his almost 2.02m in height). His professional career is as broad as his imagination. Philippe has worked for brands in the fashion industry such as Channel, Dior and Andrés Sardá.

He has also illustrated children's stories, comics and even boots!

But his mastery is reflected in his splendid murals. Flowers in shops, restaurants or hairdressing salons...

Imaginary characters in design studios, Playmobil dolls in hotels, trompe l'oeil in homes... Any surface is suitable for Philippe to give free rein to his personal imagination.

His house, of course, reflects this beautiful, dreamy, carefree and humorous character.

Philippe lives with his worst enemy, the gouttelette (We would like to take this opportunity to appeal to the builders of the world: please forget about the gotelé!) Even so, he has managed to make the most of the walls, invading them with murals and paintings.

Claudia takes care of the order and structuring of the spaces while Philippe is in charge of all the decoration. Most of the furniture comes from the street or from flea markets and all the pieces are treated and reformulated, with the exception of a spectacular armchair designed by Joe Colombo given to him by his parents.

The important thing, according to him, is not only the pieces themselves, but also the way they are treated and the way they are arranged. So, for example, a bag from the French La Poste can be transformed into a beautiful stool in the living room, and an antique medicine cabinet into a bathroom cabinet.

Inspiration is a way of life. Philippe's, no doubt. “Inspiration does not start and end at a specific moment, but is a constant flow”.” he says. When we arrived at his house we caught him painting little clouds in his precious baby Thelma's room. That's the motto, to never stop dreaming and watching the clouds...
