Resumir en pocas palabras la esencia del trabajo de Julia Esqué (@juliaesque en Instagram) como diseñadora de producto es fácil gracias a todo el trabajo que hay detrás. Sus proyectos se basan en la experiencia de la investigación y la práctica y se han expuesto en la Feria del Coleccionismo de Bruselas, el Gent Design Museum o la HKDI Gallery de Tokio, entre otros. Con una visión moldeada por 5 años de colaboración con Stephen Burks en Nueva York, y después de trabajar con Martí Guixé, Jaume Ramírez y Curro Claret, sigue aprendiendo (y enseñando) cosas y buscando la inspiración sin esperar a que llegue. Entre proyecto y proyecto nos destila, en esta entrevista, su amor por los objetos.

Design pots: decorate your home with plants

A home without plants is not a real home. And there are so many benefits... They purify the air; several studies conclude that they help us to concentrate and be more efficient when we live with them; they are the most consistent with a home with ecological values and they brighten up our eyesight. Even NASA loves them! But you know that at Monapart we always like to raise the level of the equation and have products that combine design and functionality in a special way.

We are referring to Qstura, a school located in Girona that offers online and face-to-face courses in design, pattern-making and dressmaking (including its own diploma in Fashion and Textiles), with a philosophy that is full of values such as sustainability and innovation. We talked to Sílvia Castelló, its director, who explains to us when this passion was born, what her sources of inspiration are and what is the colour that fills - literally - every corner of her life.
