Monapart for art: let's go to Barcelona Gallery Weekend 2017
This year, we're joining the third edition of the Barcelona Gallery Weekend (BGW) to immerse ourselves in culture and avant-garde for 4 days (from 28 September to 1 October).
The Barcelona Gallery Weekend it is an event for professionals and art lovers, collectors and artists that started in 2015 with the aim of becoming the annual benchmark event for the sector in Barcelona. A true breeding ground and generator of synergies between artists, which in just a few years has managed to establish itself as one of the major annual events on the cultural calendar. Who doesn't enjoy immersing themselves in avant-garde and trends every now and then, with the cool rush that entails?

During an intense weekend, professionals and the general public will enjoy the extensive programme of the Barcelona Gallery Weekend in the city's most prominent galleries, artistic interventions in iconic locations, exhibitions, guided tours and special activities. Organised by Art Barcelona, the programme presents the projects of the selected galleries and two parallel programmes: Compositions y Playing to the gallery.
Compositions features art interventions in unique locations around the city, whether due to their architecture, activity or history. Each commissioned artist is represented by one of the galleries participating in the BGW. With one's back to the gallery it is an exhibition of works from the private collection of the gallerists participating in BGW in relation to a theme and a space that change with each edition.

And you may be wondering (or not)... What does an estate agency do at an art event?

You already know us… often we turn up where we're not expected, but when it comes to art and culture, we are very keen. This year we contributed with a sponsorship (in the form of a 'Friends Programme') at the Barcelona Gallery Weekend. We feel a strong connection with the essence and concerns of artists and gallerists, a sector that often does not enjoy the recognition it deserves. We are aware of the great work done by galleries as spaces that generate culture, open to the public, and the importance that their promotion and recognition hold for society.
We can only strongly recommend that you make some space in your leisure schedules to go on a weekend art route through Barcelona. And as that song went... See you in the galleries!
