Useful tips for the change of wardrobe
Monapart Alicante talks to Ana Samper, who with her advice, the wardrobe change will stop being a torture and become a pleasure.
If you hear about capsules and the first thing that comes to mind is coffee, you are about to discover the ultimate solution to the dreaded change of wardrobe.
How many of us despair at this tedious moment of changing clothes from one season to another? I can always think of a million things to do before changing my wardrobe and I "unintentionally" put it off until I start to die of cold or heat, depending on the time of year we are in. Fortunately, this time, our friend Ana Samper, Personal Organizer and creator of the website Order and With Certainty(in this post he already gave us advice on how to put order and agreement on removals) helps us to face this textile dilemma and get our wardrobe in order:
Question: Ana, what is the best way to face the change of wardrobe and not die trying?
Answer: Wardrobe changes are becoming an absolute necessity, which is why I have specialised in wardrobe organisation using the capsule wardrobe theory. I have personally been using it for over three years and recommend it to all my clients.
But what is the clothing capsule theory?
Order is directly proportional to the amount of things we have and the space we have available, so this philosophy will help us to achieve immediate and lasting order in our wardrobe. It consists of pre-deciding what we are going to wear in the next 3 months and limiting the amount of clothes we have in our wardrobe to 33 items. Within this selection we include shoes and we will not include accessories, sportswear or nightwear.
Why?
Because by reducing the number of garments, the chaos that can be created in our wardrobe will be considerably reduced and, in addition, as you already have your favourite outfits chosen for the next 3 months, it will be easier to choose what to wear every morning.

You've convinced me! How do I create my own clothing capsule?
- The first step is to do a thorough cleaning of all the seasons, discarding the clothes that we know we will never wear again, that is to say, get rid of all the "just in case" items.
- The second step is to browse through some fashion magazines, Pinterest, Instagram or our favourite websites to keep up to date with what's trending in the season for which we are going to prepare the capsule wardrobe.
- Third step: make a list by categories of the clothes that we have kept and that we can wear for the new season. Here is one staff like the ones I usually use.
- Fourth step: select the garments from the list we have made by making combinations. If we are missing a garment to complete our outfits, we can buy it online knowing exactly what garment and what colour we need.
By following these four steps, you will be able to easily change your wardrobe, because when you take out the clothes that you have not included in the capsule, you will only have to put them away and take out the ones you have chosen for the next season. As not all clothes are changed and there will be clothes that you will keep from one season to the next, in a short time the change will be done, without the need to empty the whole wardrobe or open all the boxes of stored clothes; unless you are extremely tidy, we usually never know what's in each box. ;D
In addition, when you take out what you are not going to wear anymore, you can decide whether you want to keep it or not, so you will avoid having to do those wardrobe cleaning marathons of accumulated clothes from other seasons that you know you are never going to wear again.

Wardrobe changes have become a problem due, on the one hand, to the fact that homes have less and less storage space and, on the other, to the fact that we are buying and accumulating more and more clothes. By following these tips, changing your wardrobe will no longer be an ordeal but a pleasure and you will be able to dedicate your time to what really matters!
