The Selby is to domesticity what The Sartorialist is to fashion. A website where you can see photographs, pictures and videos of interesting people in their creative spaces, whether that's their home, their studio, their gallery, or their bathroom.

It takes all sorts to make a world, and when you’ve been a subscriber to The Selby for a long time like yours truly, you lose a lot of your hang-ups and truly understand the meaning of words like «plural», «sophistication», «mind-blowing».

Todd Selby He is an illustrator and portrait, interior and fashion photographer. Previously, he was a translator, tour guide in Tijuana, researcher in the Californian raspberry industry, cartographer in Costa Rica, corruption consultant for a Mexican senator, art director for a venture capital firm, exotic flower wholesaler, Japanese clothing designer, and entrepreneur in the composting industry.

In June 2008 he created this website to upload the photos he took of his friends in their homes. He couldn't have imagined for a single second that in a few months he would end up receiving requests from people in every country in the world, partnership offers from companies like Nike, Habitat, The New York Times or Vogue Paris, nor that his website would receive a staggering 35,000 visits a day.

And what does The Selby offer? Well, an intimate look into the personal spaces of artists and creatives with an artistic touch focused on detail.

Can we visit the studio of Inès de La Fressange in Paris, the house of Tom Wolfe in New York and other delights, but we also see the homes of tattoo artists, DJs, musicians, producers, clothing and furniture designers, restaurateurs, and endless others.

Houses in New York and Sydney, in London and Paris, in Milan and Los Angeles, in Tokyo and Mexico… Todd never stops. Although he says he spends his time eating four times a day, planning holidays, breaking his computers and improving his tan.
