Sargadelos
There are objects that form part of our lives without attracting too much attention until suddenly, one day, wham, they hit you in the neck. Sargadelos may be one of these cases. Perhaps your grandmother had a strange bird-shaped figurine on her bedside table... Or your parents treasure a collection of vases in the living room...

The fact is that this Galician porcelain This precious thing has always been there, in many homes all over the world, for two centuries no less.
"Galician lands elaborated with ideas of our time". is the motto that inspires the entire production. Kaolin and Galician culture have proved to be a winning combination from which beautiful pieces emerge for crockery, vases, figurines, jewellery... And all of them manufactured, decorated and finished by hand from exclusive moulds.

The culprit: Antonio Raimundo Ibáñezthe time: 1806; the place: an earthenware factory in the parish of Cervo (Lugo); the idea: to turn Galician clays into innovative decorated earthenware.

From the same blast furnaces that produced ammunition, pipes, chains, kitchen utensils and other tools used in 18th century Spain, came beautiful sculptures, public fountains and decorative balusters that can still be seen today in some Galician cities.

Sargadelos has 15 galleries all over the peninsula, museum-shops where you can go either to give another bird to your grandmother, another vase to your parents, take a walk and be amazed, or to give yourself the first piece of what is going to be your new crockery (yes, crockery in pieces!). Just so you know, your coffee won't taste the same...
