Those of us who like full stops, Ox Mobiliari is a full-fledged one. It is a discreet shop on the corner of Riera Sant Miquel and Carrer Seneca, and I say discreet because it is poorly lit, makes no effort to attract attention, and its website is currently a mere domain car park. But for "domestic hunters" like us, it is an obligatory stop. Even on Sundays I've seen some of them peeping through the bars...

To enter this shop is to travel to the Ali Baba's cave of the Scandinavian design of the 50s, 60s and 70s. When you still haven't closed your mouth after watching half a dozen Globe lamps by Verner Pantonyou hit the ground with your face against some Egg chairs by Arne Jacobsen which almost ended up with a collection of jaw-dropping vases made by someone with an unpronounceable name.

If a short while ago we said that the French have a knack for smellsToday we state another truism by saying that Scandinavians are gifted in design, world-renowned for bridging the gap between craftsmanship and industrial production and for uniting beautiful organic forms with functionality.

At Oxfamous firms such as Bruno Mathsson y Piet Hein are mixed with an eclectic selection where lesser-known names occupy a privileged place. According to the owners, the criteria is very simple: "beautiful furniture and objects" that they restore in their workshop, where they also do interior design projects.

MONAPARTERS is a must. Take good note and don't ox forget.
