The origin of the lampshade is located in Asia Minor. The Turks found it in the region of Anatolia and in Ottoman times, it was used to decorate the gardens of Istanbul, where 1,600 varieties were cultivated. Moreover, it took on a religious meaning because the Turkish name 'lale', written in the Arabic letters used by the Turks during the Ottoman period, was associated with 'Allah' (Muslim God).

- How to grow tulips
The tulip is a plant that can be used in the garden to decorate almost any empty space. Moreover, the length of the stem allows it to be used as a carved flower.

Most of the tulips are single-flowered and oriented upwards. They are made up of six acuminate petals (tied up in the shape of a crown but on the front) and six stamens.

Flowering lasts from early spring to late spring, depending on the variety, and the best time to plant the bulbs is in late afternoon (November-December).

From the base of the stem the natural green to greyish-green, normally lanceolate flowers grow. The plant grows up to 20 centimetres high and contrary to what is supposed, tulips are very resistant to cold and strong winds. The colour of the flowers changes from uniform to jasper.

They are rustic but perform well in well-drained soils; it is advisable to avoid poorly drained soils, i.e., soils where there is swelling that affects the plant by suffocation or the proliferation of fungus.

Once the cycle has finished, the experience can be repeated. When the flower is panseixed it is advisable to cut it at the base and let the plant follow its normal cycle until it reaches senescence; this is not a rule but it occurs approximately four weeks after the flowers have fallen, at this stage the bulbs must be cultivated and kept in a cool, well-ventilated place. Planting the bulbs at the right time allows them to have a good root development, as well as to accumulate the corresponding hours of cold to be able to break dormancy. If they are planted out of season, they remain in dormancy without growing. Many people do not obtain the expected results because they plant them before or after this time.

The distance between the bulbs must allow the planting of 30 fish per square metre and it must be taken into account that the depth at which we bury them must not be greater than 10 centimetres.
