Globe lamp - Verner Panton (1969)
One globe, two globes, three globes. The Earth is the globe where I live... Do you remember the song? Verner Panton I didn't know her, but if I had, I'm sure it would have made her think of the Globe Lampone of his best creations.

This lamp is a blast, whichever way you look at it. From the front, from the back, from above, from below. There are not many lamps on the market as bright as this one, even when it is switched off. The complex simplicity or simple complexity of this lamp contains a fascinating dynamic. Inside an acrylic glass globe there are five different sized lacquered aluminium reflectors in silver, white, blue and orange which distribute the light and which are suspended by three thin steel chains.

Verner Panton is considered one of the most influential designers of furniture design at the end of the 20th century. Its innovative and futuristic designs are mainly made of plastic and are brightly coloured. In his own words: "The main aim of my work is to incite people to use their imagination. Most people live their lives according to dull and grey parameters, fleeing in horror from the use of colour. Through light, colours, fabrics and furniture and using the latest technologies, I show new possibilities to encourage people to use their imagination and make their surroundings more exciting".

Verner Panton envisioned a happy and colourful future. He ignored the "adult" limitations that inevitably arise as we grow up. On the contrary, Panton thought and created with the imaginary vision of a child, a globe full of beautiful, eye-catching colours and shapes, just as we see the future at Monapart. Most of his best-known designs are still in production and the official producer of this lamp is Verpan.
