Farafina

There is a african shop a Barcelona, on the beautiful side of Via Laietana... This is the beginning of this post, dedicated to the great forgotten continent.

Farafina opened its doors at the end of 2005 on Carrer Vigatans, and five years later moved to Carrer Amargós, not far from the original location.

To enter Farafina is to enter a cave of treasures full of items made by artesans africans:

Furniture and decorative objects.

Bijuteria.

Textiles, toys, music, cosmetics, infusions, incense... All marketed directly with the artists / producers and under strict ethical criteria.

Farafina is much more than a shop. Through the careful selection of products, it has become the informal home of the'.Sub-Saharan Africa in Barcelona and a meeting point for all lovers of this culture.

But moreover, in 2008 she is responsible for a project in Bamako to build a school hotel on the banks of the Niger River designed by a group of architecture students from Washington University. What's more, once the hotel begins to reap its first benefits, these will finance the creation of a centre for the care and training of children and young people without resources and/or with disabilities in Siby, a small town located 50 km from the Malian capital. The visit will not leave you unchanged... And if it's hard to leave the mood African, you can enjoy it all at Daru Salam, a Senegalese restaurant on Carrer Agullers 18.
