In the heart of Chamberí, always on the lookout for the latest trends (even at Christmas, of course!). It's the favourite time of year for the sisters Mayte and Lucía, who run the shop, and it shows. You'll find an infinite number of options in gold and in champagne roséIn addition to the now essential red touches, with styles reminiscent of our French or Belgian neighbours.
By the way, they organise decoration courses throughout the year, and in December they organise a special Christmas course for children. It's clear that they love contact with people, and I think that's partly why they've been open for more than twenty years!
SALON DES FLEURS
Florist, tea room and shop with charming little details. And at Christmas, it could not be less. Old acquaintance for its concept vintage living taken to all levels. Very cute little fabric soldiers. And the little golden stars. And any composition with holly... Anyway, if you go through that pink door, something will fall. Surely. Because then there's the stout cake. But well, that's another story...
STUDIO DI VERONA
Located in one of the most artistic streets in Chueca, Calle Pelayo.
Don't be fooled by the small façade: go all the way to the back. There are several rooms, although the Christmas decorations are more concentrated in the first two. Beautiful items with a Central European flair that grab you as soon as you enter.
By the way, don't leave without a myrrh candle. Because you are curious to know what myrrh smells like and because it is made of real beeswax, like the ones made at the beginning of the 20th century, with a very intense flame and no black smoke. And like batteries, they last and last and last.
ANGEL STUDIO
Very close by (in Calle San Marcos) Ángel and Pedro, the founders of the shop, are responsible for the orientation towards sophisticated proposals but with a certain touch of naturalness. Ángel is also a space designer (of course, that explains a lot...). The transparent balls and the giant lamp-chandelier are beautiful.
Here you will find celebrities (the one from selfies who have seen these walls...) to "the lady who cleaned windows in the building opposite, because she could see the shop from the window, she loved it and one day she went down to buy a treat". Those are the coolest stories.
BADEN BADEN
A legendary shop in Madrid's Salamanca neighbourhood. And rare. Everything is handmade items from Germany, Austria, northern Italy... Blown glass and hand-painted balls, Bohemian crystal nativity scenes, metal nativity scenes, fabrics, Christmas candles, the famous Fabergé eggs... Recently moved to the Salamanca neighbourhood, we have this piece of London in Madrid. A very special shop and tea room britishin the purest retro Victorian style. And a true reflection of how crazy the English are about Christmas, because despite the modest size of this small shop, they have a lot of details for Christmas decoration: tableware, tablecloths, napkins, socks and an infinite number of ornaments to hang on the tree or on the walls of the house.
