At Jaume Vidiella's house

The Jaume Vidiella He is a fashion editor, stylist and trend hunter, in other words, a never-satisfied curiosity. That’s why he came to Barcelona in the 90s; Reus was too small for him. Let’s go to the Raval, the chosen venue. He does almost everything there: he has his house, family and friends nearby, the gym, he goes out there and works, and does field work, especially in Plaça dels Àngels, which he says is one of the most vibrant places in the country.

The first impression when we enter their house is the pleasant scent that fills the air. It tells us that they collect perfumes (they have a lot!), and that among their friends he is famous for the pleasant scent he emits. Perhaps this writing has been infused…

It is a welcoming, well-kept space, “with few things but good ones,” and everything around it is memories or things loved, full of meaning and depth, perhaps seeking the balance of someone who is dedicated to researching volatile trends that cease to be so the moment they become so.

I don’t know if I’m explaining myself. Books, perfumes, childhood objects. The dim light from a lamp, the touch of the wood present throughout the house, the coldness and solemnity of the Sargadelos ceramic pieces, the sparkle of the volcanic stones… All important, in their own place.

Whenever Jaume comes home, I also get the urge to strip down and soak up everything around me. I don’t know if I’m making myself clear.
