But Òscar is a very generous man, and in his heart there is room for many passions: good illustration (Charlie Harper, Alexander Girard), la bona artesania (Sargadelos), el bon disseny (Vitra, Ox Mobiliari, Fusta'm), la bona roba (The Outpost, Snö, Sebago, Original Penguin...), the good food... The good everything. Oscar knows how to choose.
Two things abound in his house, music and the best and best of 20th century design. He doesn't have a lot of things, not only because of space limitations but also because of what we say, Òscar has one of each, but the best of each. A chain (Alluminum, by Charles & Ray Eames), un llum de taula (Boomerang, by Fase), a writer (Swag Leg Desk by George Nelson), a container moble (Bobby by Joe Colombo), un rellotge de paret (Spindle wall clock, by George Nelson), and other nice and well made things without names and cognoms found here or there, as gifts or in usdefruit.
The king of the house is the last Christmas present, a record player. Brionvega RR126 designed by the brothers Castiglioniwhich, as he explains, is the first thing he sets in motion when he gets home and puts his coat on.
And what does it play? Mostly music from the sixties (back where we came from), bossanova, mambos, cha cha chas, easy listening, lounge, space age pop, elevator music, hammond grooves, ye-ye sounds... In fact, Òscar has a room full of records, vinyl covers hung on the walls like squares, and even a gramophone!
Music, music, music
Cha cha cha cha
Music, music, music
