A few months ago we gave you a preview the sponsorship by Monapart Palma of the I Festival Domèstic Cultura a Casa, a cultural event that from 19 to 29 September will take over ten domestic spaces in the centre of Palma with all kinds of cultural activities.
A few days before its start, Tina Codina (@tinacodina) and Miquel Ferrer (@miquelfs), who are in charge of Culture at home and the organisers of the festival have unveiled the festival programme, which will kick off on Thursday the 19th, coinciding with the celebration of the Nit de l’Art to Palma.
The Gallery at Home it is the space that inaugurates the festival, hosting an exhibition in a secret domestic space (the exact location will be revealed days before the event). Curated by Tolo Cañellas, the exhibition will showcase the work of top-tier artists such as Real Monsters, Rubenimichi, Nauzet Mayor, Bartomeu Sastre, Ana Cabello, Julià Panadés i Andrés Senra. The proposal aims to bring art closer to people outside of artistic circles and thus take it out of its traditional channels. Furthermore, it will provide the opportunity to meet and converse with the artists themselves, who will act as gallerists for three days.
Besides visual arts, the festival also offers a series of’parallel activities and what workshops and debates are like in the Sofa Club regarding new formats and spaces for culture. And as a final flourish, there will be offered 8 performance arts proposals of which we highlight the Monapart Concert by a surprise artist on the coming 27th of September. Who could it be, who could it be…?
