On the occasion of the presentation of the restaurant's "Spring Menu" 7 Portes from Barcelona, Wines from Mas Sersal (Stones) and the Barcelona pop-rock band Mishima, Monapart was invited to a hearty cooked breakfast. Gastronomy, wines and good music in a winning combination that promised a splendid morning.

Everything was very well set up when we arrived. Table laid, piano and guitars tuned and plenty of appetite in our bellies. The parade of dishes didn't keep us waiting...

Tripe Catalan-style, escalivada, cod with samfàina, or sausage with ganxet beans were splendid accompaniments to the wines.

Paco Solé Parellada, owner of 7 Portes – one of the oldest in Barcelona (1836) and run by the Parellada family since 1943 – explains that he has included Mas Sersal wines on his wine list for their excellent quality, but also because "Set tota la vida" [lifelong know-it-all / a lifelong Seven] coincides with the fact that his restaurant is also a lifelong Set Portes.

Winemaker Sergi Montalà and sommelier Salvi Moliner, at the helm of the Mas Sersal winery, presented their wines to us Lifelong (DO Montsant) i Vine (DO Terra Alta).

With these two wines, the Mas Sersal winery completes a catalogue of four other wines: the white Petites Estones, which won the Gold medal in the young wines category at the last edition of the Premis Vinari, and the reds Petites Estones, Estones and the very exclusive Terces, only bottled in magnum format and in a very limited edition.

And what has Mishima got to do with the wines of Mas Sersal? We could tell you the whole story, which goes back a couple of years to a chance meeting between Sergi Montalà and David Carabén in the village of Falset. But it would be a long story and we'd lose our way along the path… In short, we'll say that two enthusiasts of things with spirit and soul, like wine, got together there. That also explains what Monapart was doing there…

To mark the presentation of the «Spring Menu» at the 7 Portes restaurant in Barcelona, Vins de Mas Sersal (Estones) and the Barcelona pop-rock band Mishima invited Monapart to a hearty mid-morning breakfast on Friday 20th March.
