The Catalans are a discreet people and, apart from Barça and bread with tomato, they are not very fond of boasting. That is why, when it comes to history, they celebrate the defeat of 11 September in style and reserve the victory of the battle of 26 January 1641 for a discreet street in Sants. This was the origin of the national anthem, Els Segadors, perhaps the only anthem on a smaller scale and sung with a whisper. Nothing less could be expected from a battle in which reapers, not soldiers, fought.
Along the same lines, a flat like this one, marketed by Monapart BarcelonaIf it had been in any other city in the world, it would be located in one of the coolest neighbourhoods: London's Shoreditch or Madrid's Malasaña. In Barcelona, however, we have it in a quiet street in Sants, flaunting its discretion.
