Contemporaneity is a much abused concept. In the art world, for example, one can find the label contemporary on works produced fifty years ago or more, even if the author died decades ago. But the definition of the term indicates that contemporary is that which is relative to the era in which one lives.
There are modern, trendy or novel styles of renovation and decoration that may catch the eye but will be outdated in a few years. The key is to find a style that will still be contemporary in 10, 20 or 30 years. It's not easy, but it is possible. And here's the proof.
