The phrase should be "if THESE walls could talk...". Because there are walls that speak -in their own way- and that tell many things. And in Barcelona we know all about it.
In our city there is a tradition of graffiti and muralism that goes back a long way - perhaps not as far back as in Altamira - and which finds one of its best examples in Keith Haring's 1989 work replicated today on a wall next to MACBA. There are also guided tours through the streets of the city to hunt for artists such as Zosen Bandido, Xupet Negre or Miss Van, not forgetting the dozens of shop shutters decorated by the still undervalued - the future will tell - Lobizon Art.
But there is an alternative that allows you to enjoy mural art without leaving home: living in a flat with walls decorated by an artist like Yoshi Sislay. Between the walls and floors of this home (which also have their own history), all we can say is "oh, if only the ceilings could talk...".
