The origin of the place name Tibidabo is uncertain. In Latin "tibi dabo" means "I will give you" and comes from some verses of the Vulgate Bible in which the devil addresses Jesus from a great height, showing him the kingdoms of the Earth and telling him: "All this I will give you if you will fall down and worship me" (Matthew 4:9). So in the end, the name Tibidabo is a reference to this splendid view of Barcelona.
