We often use the word "house" as a synonym for housing. You can live in a flat, a studio or an attic, and it will still be your home. There is nothing wrong with that. But it is always better to talk about a house when your house is really a house: a complete building, with its direct entrance from the street, and its own staircase, without having to fight with the neighbours for the use of the roof or the lift. It is very easy to boast about a house, but only a few can enjoy a house like this, a real house.
