The sun pours through the windows of this flat near the sea, and this is precisely one of the things it values most. Erika Lust<\/strong><\/a> of her family life in Barcelona. This Swedish mother, who came to Barcelona in 2000, is not tempted to return to her country now that she has two girls, Lara, three and a half years old, and Liv, four months old. If for any other mother Sweden is the best country in which to have children, she tells us that the discomfort of the climate and the lack of light do not compensate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They admit that it has made them spend many sleepless nights, mostly because of the inexperience of being first-time parents. This has led to little sleep and the few arguments they have had as a couple. Now they organise themselves better and share tasks instead of trying to do things together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Liv is a different matter. She is calm, smiles and only protests when she is sleepy. Her sister protects her and gets angry if anyone touches her without her permission. Her mother likes to affectionately call them \u00ablas barcelonesas\u00bb because they are and because of a certain phonetic resemblance to the noble title. And Erika's contagious laughter echoes throughout the sun-flooded flat, full of toys and books in every corner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

... A typical Sunday morning?<\/strong> If the night has been good, we all get up together, otherwise the one who has had a good night's rest lets the other one sleep. Afterwards we go out for walks, brunch and Lara likes to go cycling.
... Favourite place to go for a walk?<\/strong> From home we go to the Parc de la Ciutadella and the Born. In spring we like to go to Barceloneta.
... Favourite reading? <\/strong>Many Swedish books and the Alice in Wonderland<\/em> from the K\u00f3kinos publishing house.
... Favourite music?<\/strong> Lots of Swedish children's music, also Maria Elena Walsh, disco and Minimusic.
... Favourite restaurant?<\/strong> The Picnic, the Sal Caf\u00e9 in summer and the Me for adults!
... The best advice you've ever been given about children?<\/strong> Erika: My mother told me to let my husband do all the chores he wants, even if he doesn't do them well, because that's the way to get them involved in raising the children. Pablo nods...
... What moment do you particularly remember? <\/strong>Erika: \u00abDoing it!\u00bb (laughs). Pablo: \u00abWhen Lara started school we were afraid because she hadn't been to school before and we didn't know how she would react. But she adapted very well and she immediately liked going to school!\u00bb<\/p>\n\n\n\n
