It was born in Barcelona in the mid-20th century as a small metal foundry, but its evolution has turned it into one of the major international benchmarks in lighting design. Today, from its headquarters in Terrassa, it designs and manufactures lamps which not only illuminate spaces, but transform them.

Carlos Marset, alongside his brother Javier, is part of the third generation at the helm of the company. Their focus is clear: to create pieces that combine beauty, functionality and sustainability. Because at Marset, lamps are not designed just to be pretty, but to help people live better lives.

Carlos and Javier Marset

One of the keys to the success of Marset it is the balance between tradition and innovation. Over the years, they have collaborated with designers such as Joan Gaspar, Inma Bermúdez and Jordi Canudas to give shape to pieces that are already icons, such as the FollowMe, the Ginger or the Dipping Light. Portable, lightweight lamps with LED technology and rechargeable batteries, which have been internationally recognised and exhibited in places such as the MoMA in New York and the Centre Pompidou in Paris.

Marset showroom in New York

The brand's new headquarters, located in a converted former factory in Terrassa, is a statement of intent. It combines offices, a showroom, a warehouse, and a logistics centre. A functional space, yes, but also designed with care, as if it were one of their own lamps. Everything is designed so that the company's day-to-day reflects its values: rigor, attention to detail, a commitment to the environment, and respect for design as a tool to improve life.

Marset exports its products to more than 40 countries and is present in top-tier international projects: hotels such as the Virgin Hotel in Chicago, offices like Sony's in Madrid, or coffee shops such as Starbucks in New York. However, it has not lost the approachable character of a family business, as Javier Marset explained in a recent interview.

“We aren't interested in making noise, we're interested in lasting.

The brand's approach to sustainability is also clear. They use durable materials, minimise waste and are committed to responsible manufacturing processes. All this without compromising on technology or the most advanced design. Because, as they themselves say, “sustainability is not an option, it is an obligation”.

And at Marset, light is not understood as a function, but as an experience. Every lamp tells a story, generates an atmosphere and helps to create more pleasant, more humane homes. That is why their products do not follow trends, but instead commit to timelessness. Lamps that do not tire you, that integrate and that accompany you for years.

Designing lamps to better illuminate life.
