The boys have not yet arrived. <strong>Jon Sabin<\/strong>Monica, her partner, has taken Jarvis, four months old, to pick up Elvis from school. Even before Badcat and Naseta, cat and kitten respectively, approach the door, sensing their arrival, Monica warns us: \"they're coming\". And they are not alone. One, because she is incapable. And two, because her colleagues at Barcelon\u00e9s are her best friends \"and I would die if I didn't see them often\". <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He also recognises that a little dose of reality goes a long way when you have a baby, which is why Jarvis has already attended a few meetings.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignright size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"639\" height=\"960\" src=\"https:\/\/www.monapart.com\/magazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/en-familia-con-monica-escudero_2.jpg\" alt=\"M\u00f3nica Escudero | Monapart\" class=\"wp-image-15305\" style=\"width:319px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.monapart.com\/magazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/en-familia-con-monica-escudero_2.jpg 639w, https:\/\/www.monapart.com\/magazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/en-familia-con-monica-escudero_2-200x300.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 639px) 100vw, 639px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Monica studied fashion design but considers herself too lazy to wait for a result that takes so long. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That's why he likes the immediacy of the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.monapart.com\/magazine\/en\/mnprt_news_article\/periodismo-morell\/\">journalism<\/a><\/strong>She began her career with the magazine A Barna and continued working as a freelancer for publications such as Metr\u00f3polis, Marie Claire and Yo Dona. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Until three years ago, when Elvis was one, the Barcelon\u00e9s project came knocking on his door, a magazine that portrays the current affairs of the city and which has its twin sister at <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.madriz.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Madriz<\/a><\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From the beginning they gave him carte blanche, both to choose collaborators and content, and it was then that they decided that Jon, a graphic designer by profession, would work from home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jon tells us that he, who is a vegetarian, had to go back to buying and cooking meat and fish, although this has not been a problem for him as he has a good sense of smell. They show their respect for animals by taking animals into their home and then giving them up for adoption, even if some of them stay forever...<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As we talk, Elvis and Matida are making us play dough ice cream and Jarvis is quietly suckling. Two unusual names that were chosen precisely for that reason. With Elvis the choice was simple, even if they have to hear the question \"Is it Elvis Presley or Costello?\" And it's not because of either, they simply liked the strength and character of the name itself. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As for Jarvis, things were getting complicated and Monica thought of asking him on her Facebook wall. Finally, it was Matilda's mother who suggested Jarvis as the perfect match for Elvis. I (Monica) had managed to sleep and was very relaxed, suddenly we were all in bed, cats included, and Elvis asked to hold his brother. It was the first moment we realised we were a family.
